The Ostfriesia series was inspired by the flat landscape of the Friesland peninsula in the Netherlands, where the wide horizon blurs the distinction between the land, sea and sky. Like many of Oberdieck’s pieces, the biomorphic form is accentuated by the gradual transition of colour within the blown glass.
The Distraction vessel has a twist which seems to look both onwards and backwards.
